The shop will be open all day until 8 p.m., and food trucks will be parked outside from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Team Spirit.

No appointments will be available during the promotion and space is limited, so arrive early, eat regularly and join Team Tough Titties for a great cause.

The first in a series of events aimed at raising money and awareness about breast and ovarian cancer in honor of those among us who are fighting, surviving or have lost their battle, the Team Tough Titties Kick-Off Party will feature team co-captain DJ Elle Jay joined by Professor B-Rad–making his triumphant return to the Pike for one night only!-as well a super-sweet bake sale and complimentary frozen treats courtesy of the Ice Cream Man. Roaming photos will be provided by PhotoGraffiti.

As a bonus, for just $5 attendees can enjoy the evening’s signature–and mighty stiff–cocktail, the Tough Titty, concocted by the Pike’s superior bar staff and served in a Team Tough Titties beer coozie.

As part of our 2011 season, Team Tough Titties is planning an array of fundraising events prior to the Team Spirit 10K Walk held on Saturday, September 24, including our Team Kick Off at the Pike Restaurant & Bar, a Movie Screening at the Art Theatre and our largest event of the season, the Benefit Ball.

The majority of the donations Team Tough Titties receives each year originate from these special events–and here’s where you come in. In addition to the fundraising efforts of team members, we rely heavily on the support of our local community–the fewer expenses we incur from hosting fundraising events, the more we will be able to give to our cause. We count on local businesses, big and small alike, to step and support Team Tough Titties with both monetary and in-kind donations. Not only will you help us raise money for breast and ovarian treatment and research, but you’ll also directly align your company with this important cause within our community.

This Year's Team Kick-Off was a Blast!

On Saturday, July 17th the Pike Restaurant and Bar in Long Beach opened it's doors for the Team Tough Titties 7th Annual Team Kick-Off.

DJs Elle Jay and Geaux-Geaux spun records all night to a crowd of Tough Titties and their friends, family and supporters while the Pike bartenders poured the special Tough Tittie cocktail, members hawked their homemade baked sweets and just about everyone danced their asses off!

Follow this simple, step-by-step tutorial to register for the 2010 Team Spirit Breast & Ovarian Cancer 10K Walk and join Team Tough Titties.

Log onto teamspiritonline.org and click Register from the top menu. Then click Register Online, or download a PDF of the 2010 Registration Form to mail in instead.

Click Register one more time to sign up as an Individual Walker.

Fill out all your Contact Information, choose a Username and password and check the box to Agree to the Team Spirit Waiver.

Choose Join an Existing Team under Join Options and enter a Fundraising Goal. Remember, your goal is not mandatory and can always be adjusted.

Type Team Tough Titties in the Search for Participants field and click Join next to the team name in the box below.

Choose your Walker Options by using the drop-down menus in the corresponding option. If you are able to participate in the Team Spirit Walk on Saturday, October 2nd, choose 1 in the menu next to Walker Entry Fee. If you are not able to participate in the race but would still like to be a part of Tough Titties and raise funds, choose Fundraiser Only. If you are registering a walker under the age of 12, choose Register Your Minor to Walk.

Review your Walker Options in the next step or take this opportunity to register additional walkers in your group.

Fill out your Billing and Payment Information to complete your registration. Your registration fee covers the gift value of amenities received as a participant in the event, and will not be counted on your personal fundraising page.

Confirm your registration and continue to My Dashboard. From there, you can customize your personal fundraising page, use the email tool to solicit donations from your friends and family and keep up to date on yours and your fellow team members' progress.

It's a fact: emails account for more donations, and larger ones! Take advantage of Komen OC's neat member features to email all your friends and family about Team Tough Titties and get them to join or donate today. Here's how..

Visit the Komen OC homepage at ockomen.org and click on the Race for the Cure link at the left. It will take you to this year's event page at http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=310226.

Click the Log In button at the top or the Enter My HQ to the side and then enter the username and password you created when you registered for the race.

Once you've entered your Headquarters, click on the Email tab at the top of the page. (This is also the place where you can edit your personal profile, generate reports about who's donated or visited your page and lots of other stuff.) Enter the nicknames and email addresses of your friends, family, co-workers and others who you'd like to support you. Adjust the number of email recipients by the drop down menu below.

OR, simply enter just your email address as the first recipient and then forward the email you receive using your own mail client. It can help you keep better track of your emails, and you don't have to cut and paste all your contacts!

Choose a email template created by Komen (remember to go through and edit the fields specific to our team), or write your own in the Body box below. The email tools are also a great way to get people to join our team, so if you've got a few people who you think might be interested in joining the race, then shoot them a Join My Team email!
